We give thanks for:
- the meaningful and productive leadership teams retreat on November 4-5, led by Missional Leadership Team (MLT). Bob Yoder, acting moderator, engaged the group in the book of Philemon on Friday evening and Saturday morning. Participants looked again at the “Renewing a Vision” process and how it may impact their work. Gilberto Perez, Goshen College, led a beginning conversation about intercultural competence by having us consider the diversity already present in congregations.
- ministers of youth and of formation working in congregations across conference. Pray for their opportunities to engage people inside and outside the church about Jesus. We anticipate Thanksgiving later this month, remembering God’s many gifts that come to us. We also pray for those for whom the holidays are painful or challenging.
- Paula Killough, Shannon Dycus and Dan Miller participating in the Constituency Leaders Council (CLC) meeting October 17-19 in Hesston Kansas. Two words different people used to describe the meeting were “intense” and “hopeful.”
- the 30 people who participated in Indiana-Michigan Conference’s first Everence educational event for pastors about financial challenges. Participants appreciated the hospitality and the information.
