The events of the past several years have made pastoral leadership particularly exhausting. An ongoing challenge for pastors is tending one’s own spiritual growth in a sustainable way. Leadership in any setting is also increasingly complex. When and how do you find the time to get clear on where to focus?

These sessions are intended to help you both tend your own life with God and equip you to be a spiritual leader in the midst of this complexity. I want to help you nurture your spirit and gain new tools for leadership so that spiritual leadership is both sustainable and joyful.

What you will gain:

  • Deepen your understanding of leadership as a spiritual practice.
  • Explore spiritual practices that integrate spiritual growth with your leadership role.
  • Clarify the role of the pastor regarding the mission and vision of the congregation.
  • Learn a model of change management.
  • Learn five exemplary leadership practices.
  • Expand your awareness of the role of imagination for spiritual leadership.

In addition, you will receive a one-on-one coaching session with me, Shana, included with your enrollment. Nearly all pastors are aware of the benefits of spiritual direction and how it works. Coaching is a similar practice that is helpful in different ways. It is a relationship in which you have the opportunity to clarify your focus, set goals accordingly, receive encouragement and support, and be held accountable to what you said you would do. It’s a great tool for finding your way through the “wilderness” that is church leadership these days!

Leadership Practices for Spiritual Vitality will take place on Zoom, Thursdays, September 12, 19, 26 & October 3, 2024 at 2pm Eastern | 1pm Central | 12pm Mountain | 11am Pacific.

Interested? Register here by September 5.

Are you, or a young adult you know, passionate about resolving conflict, building justice and transforming our communities? Come be a part of our journey into the heart of shalom and reconciliation in the Pacific Northwest, September 29 – October 5!

MCC Peace Camps are opportunities for individuals to explore dynamics of Christian discipleship that include building community together, experiencing personal transformation and applying Biblical foundations of peace and justice to real world issues. The Church is called to be an agent of change in the world, offering healing and hope to the broken parts of society. Young adults are tasked with moving this agenda forward into the future, creating a church that can bring about true healing, transformation, and repair to our communities, the Earth, and beyond.
