verse 23 where Jesus prays; "May they be brought to
complete unity to let the world know that you sent me
and have loved them even as you have loved me." I
long for the church to come to such a unity that the world
would know beyond a shadow of a doubt that the Jesus
we serve was sent by God. When this happens I believe
they will want to be a part of us. |

A Scripture passage that is meaningful to me: That Romans text is a challenge for us Mennonites in that Paul goes on to add the power of signs and wonders as being integral to the witness. We have a lot to learn about prayer and miracle - Christians in other cultures can teach us much. The God we worship is the One who leads us into mission, where God is already going ahead of us. This is so encouraging - it isn't just up to us to think up what good stuff to do next. |

A Scripture passage that is meaningful to me: God's breath-taking love for each of us, for "the least of these," and even for enemies is the heart of the Christian good news. Many of us in our churches are on a journey, with both an inner and an outer dimension, to more fully enter the flow of God's life-changing and world-transforming love.
This is why one of my favorite scriptures is the prayer in Ephesians 3: 14-19 that we may be rooted and grounded in God's love.
