Events - Annual Sessions- Children

Children's activities: an extra measure of hospitality

With leadership from Pat Franke (pictured teaching above), volunteers from Lake Bethel Mennonite, Stroh, Ind., went above and beyond this year in planning fun and educational activities for the 28 children at Annual Sessions. Using Psalm 8 and the song "This is My Father's World," they focused on the theme of "Gratitude for God's creation through the eyes of the early Americans."

Activities included a nature program on reptiles and amphibians; a professional puppet show; and an all-day field trip to a local park for pioneer games, crafts, and food. Many of the children's activities volunteers took vacation days to help provide this experience for the younger Annual Sessions participants.

Nursery care was organized by Kim Mishler, local coordinator.
